Orb of Creation Crafting Materials Guide
Workshop materials, scrolls, ingots, and ritual drops in Orb of Creation: where to farm each material and what crafts consume them first.
Crafting materials connect every Orb of Creation system: workshop machines produce base ingots, alchemy transmutes advanced reagents, rituals drop exclusives, and research books unlock scroll recipes you craft once then reuse forever. Players stall not because materials are hidden, but because the game spreads sources across menus without a unified tracker. This guide maps material categories, primary sources, and spending priority so you craft artifacts and equipment at the right time instead of hoarding common wood while ritual timers expire.
Material Categories Overview
Base workshop materials feed early equipment and machine upgrades. Alchemical reagents feed potions, oils, and transmutation chains. Ritual exclusives unlock artifacts and set pieces. Scrolls and written components gate spell research and thaumaturgy. Each category has different farm loops: conjuring, transmuting, harvesting, or repeating ritual stages.
Before farming a material, ask what craft it enables. If the craft is a B-tier upgrade while your capacity wall is red, farm capacity first. Materials are never the goal; crafts removing progression walls are the goal.
Workshop Ingots and Base Components
Early ingots come from workshop machines powered by resources you conjure manually until alchemy automates them. Upgrade machines before mass-producing ingots you cannot spend yet. The tier list for upgrades ranks machine unlocks that double ingot output as S-tier during the exact phase you need your first staff craft.
Duplicate conjures on the spell bar accelerate base resource input for ingot production. If ingots feel slow, the fix is usually more conjure duplicates or a capacity upgrade on the input resource—not grinding a rare drop you do not need yet.

- Advanced alloys: transmutation after mid-game unlock
- Machine parts: milestone upgrades in Workshop tree
- Rare drops: rituals and research book rewards
Scrolls and Written Components
Scrolls bridge Magic research and equipment crafting. Some scrolls teach spell variants; others assemble into staves or artifacts at crafting stations. Because scrolls consume research attention and materials simultaneously, finish one scroll line before opening three partial lines. Partial progress across scroll trees is a common inventory trap.
Thaumaturgy upgrades often require scrolls you craft from reagents that herbalism later grows cheaply. If a scroll recipe looks expensive, check whether mid-game alchemy walkthrough milestones unlock a cheaper path before you grind manually.
Ritual Drops and Rare Reagents
Ritual-exclusive materials appear on reward tracks tied to stage clears. These materials craft artifacts and set gear unavailable through workshop alone. Farm them deliberately: note which ritual stage drops which reagent, run the stage when timers allow, and store drops until you can craft the whole artifact—not half an artifact waiting months for one more drop.
Rare reagents also appear in mutagen chains and Distorted Fusion style endgame recipes. Balance inputs using the alchemy reagent balancing guide before converting ritual drops into consumables you could replace with lower-tier transmutation.
Material Farming Efficiency Tips
Transmutation Oil on QWER slots multiplies material farming sessions. Pair oil with tier-listed transmutation recipes producing the material you need. Expansion Elixirs extend augment duration during long farming so you do not drop production buffs mid-batch. Capacity upgrade finder logic applies here: if you cannot hold enough input reagents, farming feels broken when the real problem is cap size.
v0.6 beta changed some transmutation ratios and Flow-gated recipes. Update farming routes after beta patch notes rather than trusting v0.5 farming comments on outdated Steam threads.
